Mirabel was the daughter and co-heiress of Sir Thomas Rivet / Revett / Ryvett www.flickr.com/photos/52219527@N00/5660917168/ , a London merchant & 1st wife Alice eldest daughter of Sir John Cotton of Landwade www.flickr.com/photos/52219527@N00/5669387137/

She also kneels on her parents tomb at Chippenham www.flickr.com/photos/52219527@N00/5660354769/

She lived in the nearby manor house and died at Sharrington on 15th July 1593

She was originally part of a curious and sumptuous monument www.flickr.com/photos/52219527@N00/11355877966/ , described in 1740 by Blomfield which took up almost the whole area of the chancel enclosed with iron rails and reaching to the ceiling, there being just room enough to go round it. Above was an Egyptian pyramid with hieroglyphics supported by pillars with an urn at the top The hierogyphics were explained in a book published by Christopher. Raised on 4 steps she knelt in a hollow cube with a desk before her on which was a bible open at the words, “I am sure that my Redeemer liveth ......" www.flickr.com/photos/52219527@N00/11355877956/ “Over her head an oval stone projected polished to reflect her head.

Her husband and children once knelt around.. .

1, William died in battle in 1627 during the invasion of the Isle of Rhee against the French.
