Spain: The Start at Cabo Tourinan

This photo was taken on day 1 of the trek. I'm standing at Cabo Tourinan, the western most point of the Spanish mainland. I remember feeling awash with emotion at this point: nervous, incredibly excited, lonely, sad, happy... Looking towards the Atlantic for a final time, I turned to the East, put my best foot forward and began the adventure.

This image was taken during my coast-to-coast trek across Northern Spain. I walked from the western most point of the Spanish mainland to the eastern most point, a journey of 1,800km, taking 74 days. I carried the full gamut of landscape photography equipment with me for the entire trip, making photographs of the landscapes I walked through. I will be posting one photo a day from my trip, from a portfolio of about 80 – 100 images that I intend to self-publish in a book later this year.
