BNSF 5127 Eastbound OSEAWHI1-08 at Trinidad Loops East of Trinidad, WA

An Officer Special rounds the curve at the bottom of Trinidad Loop. This train is heading east out of Wenatchee, WA, towards Spokane, WA, even though the symbol says otherwise. Trinidad Loops is where the Great Northern built out the Columbia River basin up onto the plateau. From the Trinidad Siding to the top of the hill, this giant horseshoe elevates trains 500 feet in slightly over 4 miles. The tracks have been relocated through here too. Scanned slide from 10-08-05.
