Lighthouse
Technically this is two light houses, the black tower is not on the white building, it is behind it. The circular building was built with a lighthouse on top, Wyatt's Tower in 1843 by Trinity House. The problem with Dungeness is that it is still growing, shingle is deposited by the tides so the lighthouse is slowly going further in land. By 1904 a new higher tower was required and a new Lighthouse built. When the powerstation was built, this lighthouse was replaced by a new automatic light in 1964.
