Caprilands Flowers

Caprilands, Coventry, CT

I'm not sure what kind of flower this is. I've heard it called a primrose and a beach something or another. We used to go on vacation on Peaks Island in Maine when I was a kid and these flowers grew all along the back of the island. The back was the rough surf side. No swimming there but it was beautiful.
