Toyokawa fox mask

Antique fox mask from Y!J. It was listed as prewar, and I believe it! Very aged, but wonderfully crafted. <3

 

Next to a newer mask. You can see how much smaller it is, very yellowed too. This is a Toyokawa Inari shrine mask, no longer in production. The jewel on its forehead is meant to represent a Nyoi-Hoju, a Buddhist treasure said to grant any wish.
