Wellington 301 at the Hataitai Tunnel 16/8/2003

A view now consigned to history (more than ever since the abandonment of the Wellington trolleybus system on 31/10/2017), and captured during a fan trip outing, the only Designline-bodied trolleybus in the Capital to sport stagecoach livery (the first prototype of March 2003), viewed during a brief stop at the eastern portal of the former tram tunnel and the opportunity for those aboard to grab a few snaps.

Behind is Volvo trolleybus No. 264 which was converted to a testbed trolley to test some of the new gear for the production models of the Designline trolleybuses which have now also been consigned to history.
