I was surprised to find these ducks can still be legally shot in winter...... in most of Europe.
With the over-abundance and sheer wastage of food in the western world, I can't see the reasoning for shooting wildlife. It can't be for food.....as the gun and shot cost more than a cheap chicken from the supermarket would cost you through the year.
And as for the sport factor.......what skill is in throwing high velocity pellets in the path of a flying bird......any idiot can do that!
