cast resin, bronze, corten steel

Permanent Collection City of Chattanooga
This monumental work was commissioned for Renaissance Park on the banks of the Tennessee River. Figurative, architectural and organic design elements connect with historical, geographic and structural features of the area. The sculpture visually links the historical heritage of the site--including the Trail of Tears, African-American garrisons during the Civil War, and a camp of freed black refugees after the Civil War--to the distant Lookout Mountain peak, as well as to the architecture of the Market Street steel bridge and the contemporary Tennessee Aquarium across the river.
