ACS: Pinus strobus 'Chippiannock' is a witch's broom has average Blue-green needles and grows as a broad globular plant. It is a prolific seed setter and produces abundant viable cones. Many unique seedlings have been produced from this broom.
First discovered about 1980 in the Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island, IL by Randy Dykstra and Chub Harper. Some of the first grafts from the witch's broom are in the Heartland Collection, Bickelhaupt Arboretum, Clinton, IA. and in the Harper Collection of Dwarf & Rare Conifers, Michigan State University, Hidden Lake Gardens, Tipton, MI.
