American Conifer Society: Pinus pumila ‘Glauca’ is a broad, irregular, slow-growing, bushy selection of Siberian pine with upswept branching and attractive gray-blue foliage. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 4 feet (1.2 m) tall and 3 feet (90 cm) wide, an annual growth rate of 4 to 6 inches (10 – 15 cm).
This is a relatively old cultivar to the nursery trade of unknown origin. It’s earliest references are seen in an undated catalog by P.J.C. Oosthoek & Co. The Netherlands and a text written by Hugo Hooftman in 1943.
