Kitchen Steps - or Ramp?

As was typical before homes had electricity, the kitchen was separated from the main house to prevent the heat of cooking from rising into the living quarters. At the Poe House, the kitchen is on the far side of the covered back porch, allowing easy access during inclement weather. 'The ramp is a modern addition built to make the house museum ADA compliant.
