Happy Birthday Weekend to Us
Time to put a selection of photos from our special weekend. I was 50 on Thursday 15th and husband on Sunday 18th. Let the party begin.
I made this giant cake consisting of 4 chocolate sponges with vanilla butter icing, marzipan skep and cut outs. Chocolate bees and rice paper butterflies.
I used 2lb each of caster sugar, margarine and flour, 16 eggs (our own free range),3lb of icing sugar mixed with margarine and 1 pack of marzipan. My food mixer died on the last mix of butter icing (oh well).
For the cake board I cleaned up a (spare) perspex crown board and wrapped foil around it. I t was very heavy when completed. There's not much left after the party!
