Department of Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan and Bronx Council Member James Vacca on Fairmount Avenue in the Country Club section of the Bronx, a DOT work crew poured 750 tons of asphalt containing an additive that allows asphalt to be produced at 200 degrees instead of the usual 300 degrees for regular asphalt. The mix incorporated 20% RAP.
