Thyrotropin-releasing hormone . This hormone is released by the hypothalamus that stimulates the release of TSH (Stortz, et al., 2004).

 

This test is performed by first establishing a baseline Serum T4.

 

A healthy cat will show an increase in T4 four hours post TRH injection.
