Watson Lake, Yukon
I made it to Watson Lake !
This is in the plowed parking lot of the "Historic Air Force Lodge".
The Lodge is an old pilot's barrack from WWII. Super clean, ( you have to remove your shoes at the door ) and cheap at 70.00 Canadian. Showers and bathrooms down the hall.
The owner is a motorcyclist , and he was happy to have the first guy of the year on a bike.
I heard this over and over on this trip. Made me feel like a harbringer of spring, like a robin...
And I was happy to not be riding anymore. I didn't fall down, and I wasn't camping in a snowstorm. I'd have pitched my tent and waited for the storm to subside except:
1 I don't think tent stakes would've been worth having in the frozen ground.
2 I couldn't find a place to pull my bike off the road.
3 I hardly had any food, and I'd drank all my water.
