Abingdon Boys School

Claimed to have been founded originally in 1256 by the Abbot of Abingdon Abbey but more often said to have been the work of John Roysse in 1563. The period between 1716 - 1753 was a period of success under headmaster Thomas Wood, known as "Flogging Tom". Relocated from the old Abbey site in 1870.
