My first box tailpiece I've fitted - ouch !

It seems to have gone along the bass side. Maybe a weak piece of box - probably too thin around the stressed areas. I think I will stick to ebony - at least for violin. Its easier to match to a set of pegs in ebony.

Still - very surprised to see this fail so drastically.
