'No one likes us' is the Millwall fans favoured song. Yesterday one of the least liked clubs in English football visited Bramall Lane to play a crucial play off positioning game with both clubs aiming to clam two of the four remaining spots, currently being contested by 6 or 7 clubs. It is obviously why Millwall are unpopular, both players and fans are niggly, in your face and the fans caused no end of disruption before and after the game.
Worryingly a friend tried to report some antisocial behaviour, a coin being thrown and was told the police we not taking any reports.
The game Millwall spoiled, disrupted, wasted time, took players out after the ball, nothing major, just enough to prevent players running through etc, they didn't really try to win, just stop United from winning. Its an effective formula and has got them in 6th place, but not pretty to watch.
From one of their set pieces Chris Basham is beaten in the air and Jamal Blackman about to make a good save from the imminent header.
Final score 1-1. United finally broke them down around 75 minutes in and Millwall promptly started attacking and scored within the next two minutes. Frankly I don't know why more teams don't try instead of being so negative.
