The Stand

The stand works in both landscape and portrait mode, and won't wobble in either way. It's not small enough to fit in your pocket without breaking, but it'll slip in your bag just fine.

 

I tried it out with both types of iPod touch and 3G/3GS iPhone, which all work just fine. My first gen is the most stable of the lot however due to the sharp edges.
