azalea (focus stacking)
My first attempt at focus stacking. This is a composite of 11 different images of an azalea (or, probably more accurately, a rhododendron/azalea hybrid), focusing on each different anther/stamen, then "auto aligning" and "stacking" the results in Photoshop.
By using focus stacking, I was able to effectively increase my DoF to isolate the stamens/anther, while retaining the OOF character I wanted in the background.
Shot at 1/20 s (on a tripod), f/4, using my 85mm Nikkor f/3.5 macro lens.
