Oval Lockings
saw this beautiful lock from pre-partition times on an old Haveli (mansion) owned by a Hindu family in Old Lahore. The house was abandoned by them after partition, it is converted into a gallery by an artist Iqbal Ahmed - the proceeds go to the upliftment of the area and poor sex workers of the same area (also called Red Light Area).
Very impressive and noble effort i think to rehabilitate and improve their lives.
The engravings on the lock are of a Hindu Goddess, dont know if the artist who created this thought of it but the key hole to me signifies the womb. May be I am reading too much here.
