A mysterious message

-NASA headquaters, 24th June 2159, 8.30 AM-

 

The NASA workers are watching their computers as usual. Suddenly one of them turns around to the one in the blue suit and says:

 

„Charlie, I am recieving something !“

 

„Really ? What is it ? And where does it come from ?“

 

„I have no idea...it seems like a encoded transmission....and it comes from....that can’t be true !“

 

„What can’t be true, Josh ? Where does it come from ?“

 

„It seems to come from.... Carnellia !“

 

„Wait...WHAT ? From Carnellia ? There should be noone left on Carnellia ! The miners left this planet 3 month ago ! What do you think Ben ?“

 

„Maybe, ExoMining continues work on Carnellia without the government’s permission. But that would make no sense. We checked Cornellia via sattelite last week and there was nothing left to be mined on it.“

 

„I don’t think it’s ExoMining......the signal does not seem like one of the kind we use.“

 

„How does it seem then ?“

 

„Well the computer says: UNDEFINED !“

 

„Can you decode it ?“

 

„Maybe...“

 

„Then try it !“

 

For some minutes there is silence. The only noise that is heard ist the sound of Josh’s fingers, pressing keys on his computer keybord.

 

„Hey ! I decoded it !“

 

„Show it !“

 

Josh presses the play button:

 

 

„When you first reached our home, we did hide, when you destroyed it we cried, but now we will fight !“

„What should that mean ?“

 

"I don’t know Josh. Whatever this was, it didn’t sound good !“

 

Charlie turns around to Ben:

 

„Ben, get me the secretary of defense on the phone ! I think we have a problem.....“
