Path of Philosophy
The Path of Philosophy winds its way along beside the The Shirakawa Sosui Canal between the Buddhist Ginkaku-ji and Nanzen-ji Temples. The route is so-named because the influential 20th-century Japanese philosopher and Kyoto University professor Nishida Kitaro is thought to have used it for daily meditation in the city of Kyoto on the main island of Japan.
