Engulf UMC Yard Sale

Took up donations for a month although it rained and we had to move

locations we still were moved!

We had a yard sale but when people came to pay they were given a card that

It's Free and told that God loves them and about Change The World by giving

back to your community.

We took turns in the private room giving everyone the chance to be moved!

In one of the pictures (take through the glass) you can see Me and my

husband with Buck.

Buck was recruited by our sons, Jacob and Gerry who were walking around the

parking lots with signs of "Yard Sale" and directing people.

He said he only had a dollar and his pants were torn, he had no car and he

was walking. The boys told him we had pants and they were only a dollar.

So, he came found some pants and went to pay. He tried to give us the dollar

and we gave him the card. He looked at us and tried to give the dollar

again..

He said "God loves me?" and we answered "yes".. He said, "God can love

someone like ME?" and he began to cry as did my husband and I. I got up and

hugged him and then my husband hugged us both.

Audi, another church member captured that moment on film outside.. she was

even crying and didn't hear the words.

We were all so moved by different things like these moments. Like giving a

washer to a woman who then came to our services the next day as we talked

about Malaria on April 25th.

 

I had work, and school finals (college - Bachelor degree less than a year

away) and sorting donations and moving locations last minute due to weather

- and this was all so worth it!

We gave back to our community and GOD gave us Buck! - My husband said that

on our way home Saturday!

I cannot wait for our next Outreach!! I have enclosed pictures.
