The reverse of a medium bronze Roman provincial coin, struck in the name of Hostilian as Caesar, at or for Viminacium, a city on the Danube which started as a colony of retired Roman soldiers. The ANXII in the exergue dates this coin to 250-251 AD.
The personification of the city stands between a bull and a lion, the symbols of the two founding legions.
