Byzantine Lead Seals
Reverses of two Byzantine lead seals, from Knobloch collection, purchased at Stack's 5 May 1984, lot 1829. There were six items in the lot, two "Lead Tesserae" and four "Lead Seals". The seal on the left, depicting Christ on the obverse, displays a three line legend, not a monogram as indicated in the catalogue. The seal on the right displays a monogram on each side. I confirm that I removed all six items from the original sealed holder, in which they were displayed and sold at the auction, on Friday, 22 May 2015. (KO).
