Offence vs. Defence
Lynx Spider in offensive threatening stance vs. defensive trying-to-hide stance.
When they want to become offensive, they raise their forelegs and hold their leaf! (ground). However, on the other hand, if they want to get defensive, they pull all legs as close as possible to their bodies and try to become invisible by banking on their color-based camouflage!
The left offensive stance is displayed by male and right defensive stance is displayed by female.
The pedipalps (similar to their arm) of males are very bulky and dark in color, which is the black plough/spade like structure in front of its face; whereas the same is missing in the females, which is replaced with thin camouflaged pedipalps.
