Manchester Post Card 1970s
A few postcards I picked up recently. No real car content on this one, aside from the Escort estate and van in the airport shot.
It did amuse me that these were the best postcard-worthy scenes from Manchester at the time!
The Old Shambles Inn still exists, but has moved location from here (the second move it's made), following the city-centre re-development after the IRA bomb in 1996. It's probably no mistake that the photo has been closely cropped here, as this building was wedged in between a number of rather drab grey concrete blocks at this point.
The other city-centre picture is St Peter's square, which looks very different now that it has a tram line going through it.
