Exeter Museum

The Royal Albert Memorial Museum, to be precise. This imposing Victorian building used to be a very frequent haunt in my childhood - it's not a huge place, but houses a great collection of both local and world-wide artefacts.

It only reopened at the end of last year after three years of renovation - both the building and contents. Must have been a mammoth task, financed with help from the Lottery Funds.

The big attraction as a child was the collection of stuffed animals, the Egyptian Mummy, the shrunken heads and death masks! The fossils and other worthy exhibits regrettably had scant attention paid to them.

And so it was on this occasion, revisiting with my brother and my daughter!! Some things never change.....
