Nike closing flagship Niketown

Nike announced yesterday that they would be closing their flagship store NikeTown downtown and moving to an alternative location. I remember when Niketown opened 16 yrs ago. Downtown Portland was a radically different place. Greyhound still had their depot where the new Hilton is now. I remember coming downtown to see all the sports stars visit and leave their signature or memorabilia. I remember the store's hours were based on different atheletes jersey numbers. I think it opened @ 10:23am as an homage to Michael Jordan. I think Bo Jackson was also represented there, but he has pretty much disappeared from the limelight.

Good luck in the new locale (probably the Pearl with Adidas and Puma.)
