Memorial plaque
This memorial sculpture is formed of the triangles denoting the various categories of prisoner. The Jewish, yellow, triangle was supplemented with an additional triangle indicating the reason for incarceration , co-incidentally forming the Star of David.
Political prisoners wore a red triangle; common criminals, green; religious "fanatics" such as Jehovah's Witnesses a violet triangle. A recaptured prisoner wore a blue and a homosexual person wore pink; an antisocial person wore black.
