Built as 6514 in Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Company in Smethwick, it was renumbered 33103 in 1974. Class 33s were built for use on the Southern Region as mixed traffic locomotives working both freight and passenger services with electric train heating capability. 33103 was named 'Swordfish' in 2002.
33103 is now owned by Nemesis and is based at their Burton. Withdrawn from mainline service in 1997 it was then reinstated in 2002 and named before going to Nemesis at Burton in 2012.
