United 777-200 N290UA sunset landing on 01R at SFO
A puff of smoke as the pilots jock the throttle in the gusty winds at sunset while this 777 swings around to land on runway 01R. Very rare occurrence, the first time in almost a decade that these runways have been used for landing for an entire day. This was only the second heavy to land on 1R that day, immedately after JAL was the first just before. The others opted to land on the 28s up until the last light of the day when most everything used the 01s. This guy was arriving from either LHR or FRA.
