Cheam Lake Wetlands
Cheam Lake Wetlands Regional Park is located at Popkum, B.C. not far from the intersection of Highway 9 and the Trans Canada Highway. The area has quite the history, first logged extensively and then the lake was drained for the mining of Marl limestone. The mining ceased in 1988 and since then efforts have and continue to be underway to restore the area's natural environment. It is a popular birding location.
