One of the tables in the law office, loaded with books, papers, candlesticks, quill pens, and the "safety lamp" in the foreground. The safety lamp had a reservoir for oil, but it was not really any safer than a regular oil lamp, just shadeless, with a wick and knob to adjust it above the oil reservoir. Notice the wire waste paper basket in the lower right corner.
