A flock of Snowy Plovers sit at my feet!
Of course I'd never bother a threatened species by running after them, but in Goleta, a flock ran up to me! And sat right down! And hung out for a bit! They were too cool for words!
It makes me think the town of Goleta is taking very good care of their plovers, they've got a nice large seaside preserve, and seem to have little fear of humans. Which makes me think the local humans are behaving well around them.
