The Countryman and the Serpent
The Countryman and the Serpent, 2009
Vitreous enamel, layered stained glass, solder 24 1/2 x 34 3/8 x 2 inches (62.5 x 88 x 5 cm)
Bart plays the countryman, with multiple “astro-Maggies” and the irritatingly optimistic, overly religious, Ned Flanders, as the serpent. Bart was thinking “I wanna see you move your body like a snake, yeah” (R. Kelly)... but violently got over that. No. 7 in my Simpson’s “Missing Episodes” series.
Based on La Fontaine's fable: www.readbookonline.net/readOnLine/19749/
