Origins

I have chosen water for the subject of my Parsons Challenge. Water is the essence of all life, though many people take it for granted. I have never before given too much thought to how much of an impact water has on our lives. Humans are made up of 80% water, without it we would die (see drawing 1); with too much of it, we would die (see photo 3). It is in everything we eat and drink - we use it every single day.

In the beginning stages of life, the fetus is surrounded and, ultimately, protected by "water:" We know it as Amniotic fluid. This water allows an unborn child the ability to move, without risking injury; it, also, maintains a steady internal temperature, which allows the fetus to be protected from harmful elements. Water is the most important component of life.
