The Monastery of St. Francis & Gorton Trust launched a fundraising campaign to buy and restore the building. The Edward Pugin designed building has now been restored as an events venue. Spirituality still has a place at the Gorton Monastery but not the rigid dogma of the Catholic church. It now hosts events that offer the consumer a variety of New Age spiritualities.
