Rooftop Intersection
I live in a high-rise in nyc and am lucky enough to have a rooftop deck so I decided to go up there and take some night shots of the area. One of the toys I've been playing with for the last couple of weeks is the CamRanger and I wanted to see if it made a difference with night photography.
What I found was that by itself it doesn't make taking the pictures any easier, or better, really. But the ability to review the images on my iPad definitely improved the experience. I was able to find myself a comfy chair to sit in once I had the camera set up and relax while I took my shots.
Because of the larger screen I was able to get a good inspection of the image after each shot and decide if I wanted to make changes in timings or other settings.
This is taken downtown near the World Trade Memorial Site at the intersection of West Street and Murray Street. There is always a good amount of traffic flowing through here so I was able to get some really nice light trails. For this one, I waited for the light to change and let the cars make the turn so I could have some nice curved trails here. I like the mix of colors within the lights as much as the shapes. These types of shots are fun because you just don't know what you're going to end up with.
