Sneinton Junction : Going 3
Originally housing a 30 lever frame, it was reduced to 10 with its change in role to a crossing box under the supervision of Trent in 1969. 55 Years as Sneinton Junction, 44 years as Sneinton Crossing shunt frame and now off to Tuxford.
I've walked past Sneinton crossing as a student in the late 70's en route from me tatty student accommodation on Colwick Road to see the pies in the top flight or the tricky trees en route to winning European Cups.
Later in life I've driven past it countless times, I always glance across to see the box and see if the barriers are up or down.
I drove past tonight and it's not there.
