Summer Saturday at Rectory
Not a lot of choice in the shot from the box and the sun is on the wrong side but I've uploaded it anyway.
In Rectory Junction's last full summer 43082 leading (with 43061 on the rear) pass the box with 1S01 the 07.53 Derby - Skeg. Two more weekends after this and that'll be it for another year, winter's nearly here :(
I believe the drivers that drive this turn are not the normal drivers that work the Nottingham - Skegs so the Midland main line drivers have to learn the route prior to the summer for the 7 or 8 weeks that this train runs.
I always wonder if they look forward to their trundle to Skeg and if they volunteer for the turn, must make a change from blasting up and down the MML ?
