And in the end........
the love you take is equal to the love you make. "
The Beatles
This is so true for me. I've put a lot of heart in to this project, but what I've taken from this project is greater.
When I started this project a year ago, I knew I wanted to docoument it. I put daily posts on Facebook, and I joined Flickr. I knew that I would receive feedback, I knew there would be comments. What I didn't know, and wouldn't have believed it if someone told me, is that I would make friends. I would connect. It has been awesome, to say the least.
Highlights of this project for me:
~The learning process. When I started, I had no idea what I was doing. I never put my ISO higher than 400, and my shutter speeds higher than 400. And I couldn't understand why I could hardly capture action. I also never had used editing software. That has been fun to learn!
~ Getting my 50 lens. What a day that was!!!! The world was shiny and new and oh so bright!!!
~ Purchasing Lightroom- Oh how I now love thee- It has saved my photos from disaster on more than one occasion!
~ Deciding to do the ICONS project- It was the most fun I had all year with the 365!
I have lots more- throughout the year, my confidence has emerged little by little- In April I booked my first session with clients, a family session. I also booked my first wedding and now have 3 under my belt, and have 4 booked already for 2011.
It wasn't easy some days. I had surgery which I had keep snapping through, as well as days when I was just too down for words. They're the days that tested my will to go on with the 365, I could have easily given up.
Fortunately to help me, I had my amazing family backing me. And amazing friends. Thanks to my hubby, my beautiful children, and my mom, sister and stepdad. My mom and hubby especially, who generously watched my kids so that I could do my thang. Thank you- I love you so much.
Next on my plate? Get my website up, and focus on the business part of things. I'll be around on Flickr still. Lots I'm sure. There is always so much going on here- I've learned that Benches are for Mondays, Drinks are for Tuesday, Bokeh is for Wednesday, Tilts are Thursday, Fences are for Friday. And the weekend, all bets are off , and Cliches and Slders reign supreme.
Thank you to all my Flickr friends!! You've all helped me so much, inspiring me and helping me to keep snapping. Thank you Ralph, Debbie and Jordy,Elizabeth, Otillie, Cara Rose, Jaime, Linda, Tracy, Tracie, Angela, Kristin, Avery, Jennifer, Tiffani,Maria, Marie, Heather Cate, Anna- I love you guys!! Thank you! There are more as well, I thank you all!!
