Arming the VAMP

Clutch's driving skills are legendary, even among the Joes, but he can be a real sonofabitch to the newbies. The latest guy to join the supply group assigned to the Joe team gets a hard time for taking too long to rearm the newest VAMP.

For the Weekend Warriors theme: Specialists. This is a bit of a cop-out, but I wanted to do a mini-review of the PoC VAMP while asking for some advice on the "armorer". His upper half is Short Fuze from the '97 Stars & Stripes set with Grunt's lower. Grunt got Zap's lower half (I think); if you swap those figures around, you can get a couple of good ones. Anyway, I'm stuck on a name for the guy; any suggestions?

Now the VAMP, it's a decent toy for the new generation, but it dwarfs the old VAMP. Nevermind the handle, that minigun must be 20mm and way too big to carry. Don't like the silver, either. Is it worth $25? Notsomuch. Is it worth $12 at Ross? Probably, if you're a ME figure enthusiast. I like it okay as a "monster truck" for the Joes, but I can't see hanging onto this one forever (unlike my poor '82 VAMP there, which I love).

Get this: I think I'm going to call it the JOLT, as it seems to be based on the Joint Light Attack Vehicle replacement project for the Humvee. That, and I like Jolt cola.
