Cabárceno: Elefante
El Parque de la Naturaleza de Cabárceno no es un zoólogico convencional ni un Parque Natural. Es un espacio naturalizado por la mano del hombre, a partir de la belleza primitiva de su paisaje kárstico, sobre las 750 Has. de una antigua explotación minera a cielo abierto.
El Parque de la Naturaleza de Cabárceno acoge a un centenar de especies animales de los cinco continentes en régimen de semilibertad, que se distribuyen en recintos de grandes superficies donde coexisten una o varias especies.
El ELEFANTE es el mayor de los mamíferos terrestres, vive en una sociedad matriarcal de estructura muy compleja dirigida siempre por la hembra más vieja.
Se desplazan siempre en fila india siguiendo un orden jerárquico.
Se comunican a través de diferentes tipos de señales, algunas imperceptibles para el hombre por tratarse de sonidos de baja frecuencia.
Los colmillos les apareceran a los dos años y nunca les dejaran de crecer. El desgaste de estos nos indica si el individuo es diestro o zurdo, si el más desgastado es el iquierdo, el animal es zurdo y viceversa

The Nature Park is not a zoo Cabárceno conventional or a nature reserve. It is a naturalized space by the hand of man, from the primitive beauty of the karst landscape on the 750 ha. of a former open pit mining.
The Nature Park Cabárceno welcomes hundreds of animal species from five continents in semi-freedom, which are distributed in boxes of large areas where one or more species coexist.
The elephant is the largest land mammals, live in a matriarchal society run very complex structure provided by the older female.
Always moving in single file along a hierarchy.
They communicate through different types of signals, some imperceptible to humans because they are low frequency sounds.
The tusks they will appear at two years and they never stop growing. The wear of these tells us whether the individual is left or right handed, if the more worn the iquierdo, the animal is left handed and vice versa
