Dynamic Range
at f/2.8, 1/60, iso at 1250
This image is to demonstrate the effect of adding supplemental lighting to establish a dynamic range. When comparing this pic to:

You will notice that without the house lighting the stair case is extremely dark in the foreground even at these settings (which typically allow as much light in as possible through the aperature).
By turning the house lights on, I compressed the dynamic range.
