Scottish Games & Fun

My older (and shorter) brother, his son, and me. I'm holding the Bradshaw Trophy, which I finally won after several years of trying.

The trophy was named after my late father, who brought scottish athletics to the Denver Area in the 60's. It goes to the winner of the Caber Toss at the Games in Denver. I think they hold these games at Highlands Ranch, now.

I finally brought it home, but it was to be my last time.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I'm moving this up to the front of my stream because I'm heading back out to Denver this weekend to watch my late father get inducted into the Hall of Fame (of the Rocky Mtn Scottish Athletes). My dad was the person who started scottish athletics in the Denver area in the 1960s, and it's become a considerable presence in the scottish athletics arena. That set the stage for my brother (pictured here) to eventually start the Rocky Mtn Scottish Athletes (an associate for the knuckleheads who actually flip cabers and such) in 1980. He's gone on to become a renowned events judge and organizer of games. He's made dad proud, I'm sure.

If you're in the HIghlands Ranch area of Denver this Saturday and Sunday, be sure to stop in and see the hunks in kilts. You never know what will "turn up".
