Interior view of an Asco

y girlfriend of the time took this shot one Sunday when she spent a duty with me. The awkaward entrance arrangement of the Asco's is plainly visible. The picture also reminds me that the electrical system was not compatible with the motors for the Setright ticket machines, so we had to use them manually with an 'emergency' hadle. Trouble was, Thames/Alder Valley mounted the motors in the upright position and rejigged the machines to rotate the dials 45degrees so that it was easier to view. On the manaul base plate, this meant that you had to twist your head 45 deg in order to see the fare you needed!
