Evening's Edge, Ironbridge

I had planned to head over to Lake Vyrnwy today to make some autumnal images but with a customer coming in to choose framing options for six prints they bought I chose to stay in Ironbridge for the afternoon.

I have stood at this spot on numerous occasions and made images in other seasons but knowing that this could be the last Autumn with the powerful backdrop of the cooling towers I chose to return having taken a superb walk up and over the Rotunda hill which is still in sensational autumn condition.

The mist ebbed and flowed as the daylight shifted further and further to blue, dusk flowing down into the valley through low cloud. My only companions on this sublime evening the odd fish leaping clear above the water surface. I could happily have stayed all night.
